I have been making pictures all my life. Drawings, paintings, sketches, plans, generate from anything that intrigues me, stirs my heart, or tweaks my imagination. When I learned this dance, donned its costume, studied, taught and performed it, I had to make pictures of it too.

I have instructed enough dance classes to recognize what happens the first time a woman ties a coin scarf around her hips, gives it a preliminary shake and catches herself in the mirror. Something happens, and that is what these pictures are about. Somewhere among them, there is one that says, “Beautiful dancer, this is you.”
