23 x 17.5" | Pen and brush with ink on paper

This image is reproduced on glossy paper suitable for framing.

The drawing emerged after many sessions with ink and brush, which is more challenging than most other media, because an obvious mistake means you cannot keep the drawing, but must begin again, learning from what you did before. It was originally meant to be a drawing for a program and menu, but it was far too beautiful to me to cast it away it in such a manner. I decided to use it instead as a picture everyone could see and enjoy.

This drawing became one of my most popular and beloved of dancer drawings. It can stand alone, or pairs well with my other pen-and-ink drawing, “Logo,” when framed together as a set, as many dancers have told or shown to me. A white mat with a thin black core or liner enhances the drawing and emphasizes its movement.
